Shanra J. Kehl is a distinguished and award-winning writer and director, celebrated for her dynamic storytelling and visual artistry. An Emmy-nominated multi-camera director, Shanra's journey began at Montana State University, where she balanced film studies and downhill ski racing. She later earned a B.A. in Cinematography from Columbia College Chicago.
Starting her career as a cinematographer, Shanra quickly transitioned to directing. Her debut short film, "MANSCAPING," a mockumentary, gained distribution through Shorts International and captured the attention of Gillette Japan, leading to a successful ad campaign in 2010. Shanra's feature directorial debut, "THE MORNING AFTER," has won numerous film festival awards and secured distribution through HBO East, with availability on major streaming platforms.
Her impressive portfolio includes directing for major networks and platforms such as MTV, NBC Peacock, Netflix, and Hulu, showcasing her versatility and creative vision. Currently, Shanra is in pre-production for "Echoes of Legends," a feature documentary that promises to captivate audiences with its exploration of tribute artists honoring musical icons.
